Firings Services

We offer professional ceramic firing services for artists who need occasional or one-time firings. Every piece is handled with care, and we aim to deliver consistent, high-quality results.

Whether you have just a few items, a couple of kiln shelves, or a full kiln load, we’re equipped to accommodate your firing needs.

For those in need of regular firing services, we offer a flexible, month-to-month, sliding scale pricing Firing Membership.

All pieces can be dropped off at our store on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 11am-7pm. Work must be packaged well in boxes and labeled with your name, phone number and email.

FAQs

1 Shelf — $50 minimum per firing
Approximate space: 21" diameter x 6" tall

Half Kiln — $100 per firing
Approximate space: 21" diameter x 12" tall

¾ Kiln — $150 per firing
Approximate space: 21" diameter x 18" tall

Full Kiln — $200 per firing
Approximate space: 21" diameter x 27" tall

Work can be dropped off at our store Sooki Supply on Thursday-Monday from 11am-7pm.

Work must be packed well in a box with your name, phone number and email clearly written on it.

For large scale work we have a driveway which pulls in all the way to the kiln or a cart available for use.

Turn around time is usually within 2-3 weeks, we offer a $50 rush service if a quicker turnaround time is needed.

Depending on our firing schedule and if the kiln is currently firing or not, the fastest turn around time is 3 days.

We fire bisque cone 06 and glaze cone 5 weekly.

Custom Firings

We can fire at all temperatures. You will need to rent the entire kiln, unless there are others who would like to share the kiln with you.

Yes, kiln cookies finished in kiln wash are required for all pieces.

Ceramics is an unpredictable and fragile medium, and while we handle all work with care, accidents can happen—especially in a shared studio environment.

Sooki Studio is not responsible for damage to work due to:

– Poor construction
– Air bubbles
– Dampness
– Glaze defects
– Firing issues
– Work left or stored at the studio

We appreciate your understanding of the inherent risks involved in the ceramic process.

Kiln Damage Policy

If a piece causes damage to the kiln or kiln shelves, the owner of that piece is responsible for the cost of replacement. Current replacement rates are:

– $45 per half shelf
– $70 per full round shelf
