A Long Beach type body with 60 mesh sand and color provided by manganese dioxide. Fires gray/brown when reduced and light gray when oxidized.

WC953 Max's Paper Clay ^ 06-10 | Avg. Shrinkage ±2%: 12% | Avg. Water Absorption ±1%: 5%

Fires gray-stony-white in reduction at cone 10, off white at cone 5 oxidation, and bright white at cone 05 (raku). It is a medium textured, low shrinkage body designed for large-scale hand-built sculpture and tile work where thick cross sections (up to 1 inch) are anticipated. Contains a moderate amount of fine and medium mesh grog.

LC5 Dark Horse ^5 | Shrinkage: 9% | Water Absorption: 10.48%

A dark/black coarse cone 5 clay capable of being used for tile and larger sculptural works. Pieces up to 5 inches thick have been fired with no bloating issues. Testing glazes recommended.

LC3 Azabache ^5 | Shrinkage: 13% | Water Absorption: 2.59%

Rich toned black clay at cone 5. Really smooth throwing body for mid-scale work. With the color content of this clay, we recommend firing no hotter than cone 5. Glaze testing is encouraged.

Clay is mined locally for a smaller carbon footprint. Contains the same 48 mesh grog as other “LC” clays but lacks the sand, making this clay body a very smooth and versatile for diverse hand-building and throwing techniques. Contains red iron oxide, which gives the clay its signature deep red color.

EM215 Low Fire Terracotta Sculpture ^06 | Shrinkage: 6% | Water Absorption: 17%

This coarse, sandy, red clay was specifically formulated for sculpture work. It is also an excellent clay for throwing on the wheel. It has exceptional strength and fires to a rich red/orange color. Works great for planters that need high absorption ie. succulents. Low fire clay, fired to bisque temperature cone 06-04.
